The Rundown: Alexander finds himself facing his final task by facing off against the man he followed in blood.

In the wake of the Day of Blood, Kahless II finds himself wandering the wastes of a planet on the edge of the Klingon Empire. As he looks for work to sustain himself, he discovers that he has lost both his influence and his position as he is being hunted throughout the empire. As he turns to selling his own weapon for food, he is discovered by Worf and Alexander and must defend his life against the boy he turned into a weapon.
At the same time, Miles and Ro are trapped on an alien planet on the run from both the Cardassian forces they recently faced and Section 31. As both parties move in, Miles realizes quickly that this encounter is more dangerous because no one knows they are there and Section 31 has their own dark agenda.
The Story: Cantwell delivers a great story that wraps up some of the plot lines from Day of Blood as well as brings the Kahless/Alexander storyline to an interesting conclusion. I really liked the rise of tension in the story as well as how Cantwell tells the story from Kahless’ perspective. The Defiant crew story still has its weaknesses, but it is getting more interesting and I am interested in seeing how it resolves.
The Art: Unzueta delivers powerful and beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. I loved the shots of Kahless alone and how his journey visually showcases his fall from grace.
